Envision the Future is a simulation game in which students, projecting
themselves to age 28, research and identify their career interests through
their class curriculum, consider family size (marital status and number of
children), and receive a mock checkbook with the monthly income entered for
their specific career. Students then visit stations manned by over 170
trained business volunteers at which they pay their monthly bills. At each
station, students make decisions concerning the standard of living they will
assume.
Volunteers
assist students as they learn how to live within their means while enjoying
their chosen careers. Students realize exactly how much money it takes to
pay taxes, pay for housing and utilities, buy a car, insurance, food,
clothing, care for children and try to have enough money left over for the
extras in life. |

Why should I
volunteer...what's in it for me?
● Volunteers receive a continental
breakfast and delicious box lunch ● 8th Grade students are our future pool of
consumers and employees. The better choices we assist them in making for their
education, the better the employment pool becomes for our local business community ● Networking opportunities with over 170 business volunteers in attendance ● It's a great way to help over 1,000
students in a very short period of time
